B. Blown insulation is acceptable but should have proper fire retardance and be placed above and <br />below fire blocking. <br />C. Ceiling insulation: provide foil or papcr facod glass fiber batts having a thermal resistance "R" <br />value of at least R-30. <br />11.2. R factors must be the foilowing: <br />A. Ceiling: R-30 <br />B. Wall: R-13 <br />C. Floor. R-11 <br />11.3. Methods <br />A. Install all insula6on according to manufacwrers instructions unless otherwise specified. <br />12.0 Roofing <br />12.1. Materials <br />A. Install minimum 220 pound equivalent fiberglass seal tab Class A fiberglass composition shingles <br />(20 year warranty) accarding to manufacturer's directions. Homeowner to choose one color from <br />three choices (to be light colors only). <br />B. Fiberglass shingles have Class A label <br />C. Asphalt shingles should have a Class C label <br />D. Felt should bc lSlb. 36d wide. <br />12.2. Methods <br />A. All roofing must be applied in accordance with the Southem Building Code. Unless otherwise <br />specified all old roof covering, whether composition, wood, oc built up, must be removed prior to <br />installation of new roof. <br />B. Atl defective, rotten, or missing sheathing, overhangs, rafter ends, and fascia must be replaced. <br />C. Therc must not be any voids or obstructions in the sheathing, and knotholes must be wvered with <br />sheetmetal. <br />D. All roofing must be done in accordance with t6e maaufacturer's recommendations, and installcd in <br />such a manntr to prevent any leaks. <br />12.3. Demolition <br />A. Demolition of existing mofing must be done quickly to allow replacement before an inclcment <br />weather condition develops. Precautions must be taken to protect the existing house from water- <br />datnage at all time. <br />B. All torn off materiat must be deaped in piles and hauled away immediatelv. <br />C.
