City Council Meeting <br />April 9, 2001 <br />Page 10 <br />C ity Manager Malone said with respect to the status of Drainage <br />Issues/Projects, he felt Councilman Plata had covered that issue. City <br />th <br />Manager Malone said that there is an issue at 6 S. W. and Sherman Street <br />with an estimated cost of $6,869.00 and reported that this is being worked <br />on. He also reported that the City has spent $9,843.00 on a project in the <br />3000 Block of Lamar Avenue across from the Tanglewood Apartments. <br />City Manager Ma lone advised the City Council that additional drainage <br />reports will be made by the Drainage Committee. <br />City Manager Malone reported that he met with Hayter Engineering along <br />with Frank Davis and Terry Townsend regarding the Cope Addition Pro <br />Rata Sewer Project and they reviewed the preliminary engineering work <br />designating where the lines are going to be along with what rights-of-way <br />need to be obtained. They identified additional houses that might be <br />served and additional research is needed to see which locations were <br />included in the pro rata project. <br />City Manager Malone told the City Council that he will be bringing to them <br />at a f uture meeting a survey of the land that will be removed from the <br />fairgrounds lease, so there will be an amendment to that lease with the Red <br />River Valley Fair Association. He said the architect will be meeting with <br />city staff and possibly members of the Humane Society to coordinate the <br />needs of the shelter and to review the plans. <br />The City Manager reported the status of Fire and EMS Station Number 2, <br />reporting that it is close to completion and the City is waiting on concrete <br />work to be completed in addition to a few minor items to be completed by <br />other contractors. Fire Station Number 4 is 80% complete. <br />Regarding the status of the Main Street Downtown Streetscape Project, <br />TxDOT Enhancement Grant Program, City Manager Malone reported that <br />the city is in the process of reviewing the proposals and checking the <br />references to select the design firm, and this will be b rought to the City <br />Council at a later date. <br />The Record Park Improvement Project is underway and the City Manager <br />presented photographs of the work in progress. <br />City Manager Malone repor ted that the weather has prevented the large <br />trucks getting into Culbertson Park to install the light. <br />
