2.2.11 CLEANUP <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be required to maintain <br />the construction site in a neat and orderly <br />manner at all times and remove daily the <br />trash, paper, rubbish, and debris resulting <br />from his operations. The CONTRACTOR is <br />responsible to alleviate any dust nuisance in <br />the work area. Upon completion of the <br />project, all equipment, construction <br />materials, surplus materials, trash, broken <br />concrete, lumber, and etc., shall be removed <br />from the construction site. The entire <br />construction site shall be graded and cleaned <br />to present the appearance as it was prior to <br />construction or better. Cleanup shall be <br />finished prior to acceptance of the project by <br />the OWNER. <br />2.2.12 WATER FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />Unless otherwise specified in the contract, <br />water required for construction and furnished <br />from the OWNER's distribution system shall be <br />paid for at a rate established by the OWNER. <br />The CONTRACTOR shall make all necessary <br />arrangements and means for hauling the water <br />at his expense. Water shall be furnished free <br />of charge from the OWNER's main, if available, <br />for filling newly constructed water mains for <br />flushing, sterilizing and hydrostatic testing. <br />2.3 EXCAVATION AND BACICFILL <br />2.3.1 DESCRIPTION <br />This work shall include the furnishing of all <br />labor materials, tools, equipment, and <br />machinery necessary for clearing and removing <br />from the site of the work wherever located, <br />all obstructions, trees, stumps, brush, <br />vegetation, woods, and debris; and all earth, <br />rock, and other materials to be excavated; the <br />removal of existing structures except where <br />specifically paid for as separate contract pay <br />items; the replacement of topsoil after <br />backfilling is completed; the furnishing, <br />placing, and maintaining of all sheeting, <br />shoring and bracing necessary to protect the <br />work and adjacent properties, to support the <br />sides and ends of the excavation and to <br />84 <br />
