Historic Plaza and Square Renovation <br /> Paris, Texas <br /> <br /> 1998 - Completed <br />Collin County Courthouse - McKinney, Texas <br />ARCHITEXAS provided architectural and master planning services for the restoration and adaptive use of <br />the 1927 modified 1876 Collin County Courthouse. The master plan was developed to meet the <br />requirementS of the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Project. The courthouse is located in the <br />center of a historic commercial district which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. <br />Through a series of programming and design workshops with a task force consisting of area merchants, <br />citizens, and other civic leaders, <br /> ARCHITEXAS created a program and design concept to adapt the vacant Collin County Courthouse into a <br /> performing arts and community development center. <br /> Total Project Estimated Cost: $ 6 million <br /> Project Architects - ARCH1TEXAS, Craig Melde/Principal-in-Charge; Robin McCaffrey/Advisor, <br /> Planning and Community Relations <br /> Reference - Elise Back, Quality of Life Board, (214)544-0296 <br /> ARCHITEXAS also prepared a Master Plan and Historic Structures Report that met the guidelines for the <br /> Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program for the historic 1896 courthouse. <br /> <br /> 1998 - Current <br />Rockwall County Courthouse - Rockwall, Texas <br />The current Rockwall County Courthouse was erected in 1942 as a WPA project. The exterior restoration <br />of the "Texas Moderne" courthouse includes restoration of structural trusses and steel casement windows <br />and the removal of existing waterproofing material that was previously applied to the limestone veneer. <br />Concrete sidewalks and entry steps will be repaired and/or replaced. Accessibility to the building will be <br />created through an excavated entry court at the north elevation and accessible parking located adjacent to <br />the new court.
