Phase II - Scope of Work - Asbestos Abatement Irerracon <br />Grand Theatreâ–  21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br />June 4, 2012 â– Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br />using a mopping action or with the use of low speed buffers. The clean surfaces will be <br />encapsulated after passing a visual inspection conducted by a Terracon representative. <br />The abated material will be bagged and disposed in accordance with the asbestos <br />abatement design. <br />Thermal Pipe/Fittinq Insulation: the thermal pipe and/or fitting insulation that is not <br />present within a contained area may be removed using the glove bag method. Prior to <br />beginning the glove bag removal operations the area will be properly demarcated as a <br />regulated area. A drop cloth consisting of six millimeter plastic will be placed beneath the <br />work area. The drop cloth will extended a minimum of three feet in each direction <br />beyond the material being removed. A remote three-chambered wet decontamination <br />system will be centrally located adjacent to the regulated work area for the workers to <br />proper decontaminate. The glove bag technique used will be in strict accordance with <br />OSHA 1926.1101. The clean surfaces will be encapsulated after passing a visual <br />inspection conducted by a Terracon representative. <br />Thermal Tape: may be removed as a component. Spray thermal tape with amended <br />water or removal encapsulant. In order to remove the thermal tape (TT) as a component <br />the CONTRACTOR will completely cover the TT with duct tape or a similar material and <br />place a drop cloth beneath the ductwork. The drop cloth will consist of six millimeter <br />polyethylene. The drop cloth will extended a minimum of three feet in each direction <br />beyond the material being removed. The area will be properly demarcated during the <br />component removal. Sections of the metal duct may be "cut" on either side of the TT, <br />taking care not to disturb the TT. A central wet decontamination unit will be set-up for <br />use by the workers performing the component removal. The team performing the <br />component removal will consist of a minimum of two workers at all times. The area of <br />abatement removal will pass a visual inspection conducted by a Terracon <br />representative. The abated material will be bagged and disposed in accordance with the <br />asbestos abatement design. <br />3.5 Disposal <br />1. Once the regulated ACM is removed, it will be double bagged and labeled In <br />accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) and <br />OSHA guidelines. Pre-printed Generator Labels shall be affixed to each <br />bag or wrapped component prior to being placed in the lined waste disposal <br />dumpster or trailer. The use of bladder bags, onion bags or any other <br />disposal bags deemed unconventional by the consultant will not be <br />permitted, unless authorized in writing by the Consultant prior to <br />contract award. , <br />2.
