Phase II - Scope of Work - Lead Paint Abatement Irerracon <br />Grand Theatre ■ 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br />June 4, 2012 ■ Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br />distance from the worker access opening or other makeup air sources. <br />Vent to Outside of Building, unless authorized otherwise, in writing by the OWNER'S <br />REPRESENTATIVE. This may involve the use of additional lengths of flexible or rigid duct <br />connected to the air outlet and routed to the nearest outside opening. At the completion of <br />the work, reinstall window panes which have to be removed temporarily. <br />The containment area must remain under negative pressure throughout the lead <br />remediation process. <br />Testing the System: Test ventilation system before any lead-containing material is <br />removed. After the Work Area has been prepared, the decontamination facility set up, and <br />the exhaust unit(s) installed, start the unit(s) (one at a time). Demonstrate operation of <br />ventilation system to the OWNER'S ON-SITE REPRESENTATIVE. <br />Demonstration of the Operation of the ventilation system to the OWNER'S ON-SITE <br />REPRESENTATIVE shall include, but not to be limited to, the following: <br />Plastic barriers, sheeting move lightly in toward Work Area. <br />Curtain of decontamination units move lightly in toward Work Area. <br />There is a noticeable movement of air through the decontamination unit. <br />Measurement of the air pressure. <br />Modify the Ventilation System as necessary to successfully demonstrate the above to the <br />satisfaction of the OWNER'S ON-SITE REPRESENTATIVE. <br />Use of System During Abatement Operations: Start exhaust units before beginning work <br />(before any lead-containing material is disturbed). After abatement work has begun, run <br />units continuously to maintain a constant negative pressure until decontamination of the <br />Work Area is complete and area has achieved clearance. Do not turn off units at the <br />end of the work shift or when abatement operations temporarily stop. Provide full-time, <br />24 hour per day monitoring of the Work Area to assure security, continuous operation of <br />the ventilation system, and fire safety. , <br />Do not shut down ventilation system during encapsulating procedures, unless authorized <br />by the OWNER'S ON-SITE REPRESENTATIVE. <br />Start abatement work at a location farthest from the exhaust units and proceed toward <br />them. If an electric power failure occurs, immediately stop abatement work and do not <br />resume until power is restored and exhaust units are operating again. <br />Responsive ■ Resourceful■ Reliable 7 <br />
