b. The Screening Board shall be made up of two (2) <br />permanent members - the Chief of Police or his <br />assistant and the Commanding Officer of the <br />Reserve Unit. <br />c, Screening Board Procedure: - The initial interview <br />of a prospective applicant shall be made by the <br />Commanding Officer, who will then investigate the <br />applicant and report to the Chief of Police. The <br />Commanding Officer shall then submit his recommenM <br />dations to the Chief of Police who shall determine <br />if the applicant is to be accepted. <br />Section 9. Any transfers from one squad to another, if more <br />than one squad, shall be with the consent of the Chief of Police. <br />Section 10. The membership of any member may terminate or be <br />terminated, suspended or demoted at any time for one of the follow- <br />ing reasons: <br />a. His own volition. <br />b. Flagrant and serious violation of Unit or Department <br />rules and regulations, <br />c, Repeated minor violations of Unit or Department <br />rules and regulations. <br />The method of determining and administering disciplinary ac- <br />tion shall be under the supervision of the City Council and the <br />Chief of Police. <br />Section 11, General policies, procedures, code-ofwconduct, <br />and manner of operation other than that stated above shall be en- <br />acted and followed as suggested or instructed by the Commanding <br />Officer, the Chief of Police or his designated assistant. <br />Section 12, The Chief of the Paris Police Department shall <br />be the director and sponsor of the Paris Police Reserve Unit, He <br />shall aid in developing and establishing policies, directives, and <br />standard operating procedures, and programs of the Unit. He shall <br />appoint the Commanding Officer of the Reserve Unit, <br />The Commanding Officer of the Police Reserve Unit shall be <br />directly respunsible to the Chief of the Faris Police Department <br />and shall carry out such policies, orders, and directives as are <br />issued by or through the Chief of Police or his designated <br />Assistant. The Commanding Officer shall develop, with the advicc <br />of the Chief of Police, organizational policies,standard operating <br />procedures, and training programs of the Unit. He shall be re- <br />sponsible for seeing th at the overall program of the Unit is pro- <br />perly adhered to, developing and maintaining continued assignments, <br />or instructio ns al directed or delegated by the Chief of Police, <br />The Commanding Officer shall preside over all meetings of the <br />Police Reserve Unit. <br />The Commanding Officer and the Chief of Police shall appoint <br />the Sergeants, if any. <br />
