Section 13, Other officers may be provided as the need <br />arises, e.g., Chaplain, Fire-Arms Instructor, Medical Officer, <br />Fhotographer, Records and Identification Officer, etc. <br />Section 14. General Rules <br />A. Conduct in General <br />1. A member must be courteous, quiet, civil and <br />orderly. <br />2. In performance of duty, he must maintain his <br />temper, patience, and discretion. <br />3. He must at all times ref rain from course, <br />profane, or insolent language; but when re- <br />quired, act with firmness and sufficient <br />energy to perform his duty, <br />4o Members must at all times be civil and re- <br />spectful toward each other and toward all <br />other persons on all occasions. <br />B. Taking Appropriate A.ction <br />1. Failure to report or to take appropriate <br />action in the case of crime, disorder, or <br />other act or condition requiring Folice <br />action, will be regarded as neglect of <br />duty and such failure to act will be suff i.- <br />cient cause for strict disciplinary action. <br />2. Neglect of duty in some instances, in addi- <br />tion to violating a Department rule, may be <br />a violation of a specific State Law and the <br />provisions of the City Qrdinances. <br />C. Intoxicating I:iquors <br />1. A member of the Department shall not drink <br />intoxicating liquors of any kind immediately <br />prior to reporting for duty, nor under any <br />circumstances shall he drink any intoxicants <br />while on duty or in uniform. Any violation <br />of this regulation shall be deemed sufficient <br />cause for dismissal. <br />2. At all other times a member, if he drinks <br />intoxicants at all, shall do so in private <br />and with moderation in order not to bring <br />justifiable criticism upon himself or the <br />Department. <br />D. Imparting Official Business <br />l. All official business of the`Department must <br />be treated as confidential and shall not be <br />transmitted to anyone without first obtaining <br />permission of the Chief of Police to release <br />such information. <br />
