Section 12. SUSPENSION OF REGISTRATION AND LICENSE. Upon presen- <br />tation to the Director of Public Works of charges that the holder of any license or <br />certificate of registration issued under this ordinance has willfully or consistently <br />violated any provision of this ordinance or is incompetent to comply with such pro- <br />visions, or that such holder has been found guilty of violating such ordinance, the <br />Director of Public Works shall fix a time and place of a maeting of the Electrical <br />Board to consider such charges and shall notify such holder of such certificate or <br />license to be present at such meeting. Such notification sha11 be in w-riting and <br />shall be delivered to such holder at least five days prior to such meeting. Upon <br />hearing such charge the Eiectrical Board shall, by written opinion, determine <br />whether or not such charges are justified, and in the event of an affirmative find- <br />ing the certificate of registration or license of such holder, as the case may be, <br />shall by said Board be revoked or suspended for a period of not less than thirty <br />days and not more than two years. <br />Section 13. EXiSTING LICENSES AN]D CERTIFICATE:i OF REGISTt'tATION, <br />Any current licenses held by an Electrical Contractor or certificate of registration <br />held by a Journeyman Electrician under the provisions of existing ordinances of the <br />City of Paris, shall remain valid until the expiration of the same under such exist- <br />ing ordinance, but any a-oplication for renewal or renewal thereof shall be subject <br />to all the terms and provisions of this ordinance. <br />Section 14, LAP5E OF LICENSE 7R CERTIFIC_ATE OF REGISTR.ATION. <br />In the event that any ho der of a certificate of registration or license issued pur- <br />suant to this ordinance allows the same to lapse for a period of more than six <br />months for any cause, any attempted renewal of such license or certificate of re- <br />gistration shall be considered as a new application. <br />Section 15, HO'_VIE c7WNERS RIGHTS. Nothing herein cottained shall prohibit <br />any bona fide home owner from persona ly installing electrical conductors or equip- <br />ment within his own home provided that the owner shall file with the Electrical <br />Inspector approved plans and specifications; satisfy the Ei.ectrical Inspector as to <br />his ability to install electrical wiring; apply for and secure a permit; pay required <br />fees; do work in accordance withthis ordinance; apply for an inspection; and re- <br />ceive certificate of approval. <br />Personal installation by an owner under these home owners rights shall beby <br />himself, for himself, on his own homestead premi ses, without compensation, and <br />no person shall be employed to assist him in any way on such work. <br />Section 16. PERMIT gZEa2UIRED, It shall be unlawful for any person, firm <br />or corporation to insta l, alter or make addition to any electrical wiring9 devices <br />or equipment subject to the provisions of this OrdinanceF without first securing a <br />permit therefor from the Eiectrical Inspector. Applications for such permits <br />shall be made in writing to the Electrical Inspector, stating the location of the <br />work to be done, a description of the work and whether it wi.ll consist of a new xn- <br />stallation or addition thereto, or repair or alteration of an old installation, and <br />the name of the owner or occupant of the building or premises, and the Permit, <br />when issued shall be to such applicant. <br />The Permit, w:zen issued, shall be for such installation as described in the <br />application, and no deviation shall be made from the installation so described with- <br />out the written approval of the E'Lectrical Inspector. <br />No Permit shall be required for the installation of electrical wiring, de- <br />vices and equipment installed by or for a utility company operating under a <br />Franchise from the City of Paris, Texas, to transmit and sell electrical energy, <br />provided such electrical wiring, devices and equipment are for the use of said <br />utility company in its operation as a public utilty as pravided for in its Franchise. <br />No Permit shall be required for the installation of wiring, devices and equip- <br />ment for Railroads or Interurban on their own property. <br />
