Upon the completion of the installation of any electrical wi.ring, device or <br />equipment, it shall be the duty of theperson, firm or corporation installing same <br />to notify the electrical inspector and the inspector shall inspect the instalXation <br />within four (4) hours after notice is given. <br />If, upon inspection, it is found that any part of the installation does not com-• <br />ply with the provisions of this ordinance, the Inspector shall give notice of the vio- <br />lation to the person, firm or corporation to whom the permit was issued. <br />When an installation, upon completion, is found to comply with all the re- <br />quirements of this Ordinance, the Inspector shall issue a Certificate of Approval <br />to the person, firm or corporation installing the work. Such Certificate shall <br />authorize the connection of the installation to the Electric 5ervice and the use of <br />the installation. <br />Section 17. WIRING TO BE ENCASED IN CONDUIT. A 11 electrical wiring <br />for light, heat, powzr or other purposes hereafter installed in the City of Paris, <br />Texas, as respectively described in the following sub-sections hereof, shall in <br />all cases be contained and encased in approved metallic conduit, viz: <br />(a) All. electrical wiring in buildings situated in the inner fire limits <br />of the City of Paris. <br />(b) Wiring for decorative lighting and window displays, provided, <br />however, the Electrical Inspector may grant permission for a <br />period not to exceed ten (10) days for temporary decorative or <br />window displays to be installed with wiring, after which period <br />such installation shall be removed. The Inspector, however, <br />may grant an extension of ten (10) days after inspection of tem- <br />porary wiring and found safe. <br />(c) AlI electrical wiring in buildings known in the building trade <br />as "Fire Proof" of "slow burning" construction. <br />(d) Apartment houses of four (4) or moreapartments and all <br />com;nercial buildings. <br />(e) All electrical wi.ring in grain elevators or places used for the <br />storage of grain, garages, filling stations, buildings used for <br />the storing of gasoline or other readily inflam?nable materials, <br />machine shops, freight houses, and in other cominercial <br />buildings where electrical engery is used to operate machines <br />or appliances for profit, provided, this shall not include any <br />electrical device or equipment used exclusively for household <br />purposes. <br />(f) Wiring incidental to the installation of any electric motor other <br />than a single phase motor, and in any such installation the con- <br />duit shall come flushed wi.th the ±erminal side of the motor and <br />shall be equipped with an approved fitting. <br />(g) O:i all service entrance installations from entrance to meter <br />sockets shall be in conduit. All meter sockets shall be grounded <br />in an approved rnanner. <br />(h) All supply wiring for electrical and neon signs. <br />(i) All wiring installed underground or in conc rete slabs or other <br />masonry in direct contact with moist earth, or in other per- <br />manently moist locations wnere subject to condensation of <br />maisture, the conductors shall be of the load covered type or <br />of other specifically approved for this purpose. <br />
