(e) To throw or deposit, or cause to be thrown or deposited
<br />in any vessel or receptacle connected with the public
<br />sewer any newspaper, garbage, hair, fruit, ashes, vege-
<br />table peelings or re fuse, rags, cotton, cinders, or any
<br />other ma.tter whatsoever except faeces, urine, the ne-
<br />cessary toilet tissue and liquid slops from approved
<br />mechanical garbage dispo$als.
<br />To fail or refuse to connect with the sewer all wash-
<br />stands or slop stands in house or yards within the san-
<br />itary sewer district or to allow any slop, wash or waste
<br />water of any kind to flow over the pavement or under
<br />the pavement into the streets or alleyso
<br />Section 5. No person or corporation shali connect any open gutter,
<br />cesspool, privy, vault, or cistern with any public sevver, or any private
<br />sewer connected with the public sewer.
<br />Section 6. No person or coxporation shall deposit any garbage, offal,
<br />dead animals, filth or any aubstance having a tendency to obstruct the flow
<br />of sewage in any manhole, lamphole, flush tank or sewer opening.
<br />Section 7, The City Plumbing Inspector ahall have the power to stop
<br />and prevent from discharging into the public sewer any private drain, or
<br />house connections, through which subatancea are discharged which are
<br />likely or liable to injure the sewers or to obstruct the flow of the sewage,
<br />or to interfere with the operation of the disposal plant.
<br />Section 8. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to obstruct
<br />or in any way injure any of the pipes, drain works or ma,chinery belonging
<br />to or connected with the sewer system of the City of Paris, Texas, or to
<br />place any substance whatever into any sink, water closet, bath tub, vessels,
<br />drains or other receptacles, belongi.ng to or connected with said sewer
<br />system which may obstruct or injure same.
<br />Section 9, Any person, firm or corporation desiring to lay pipes for
<br />water, gas, steam, or any purpose, in any street or alley upon which sewers
<br />are laid, shall give at least twenty-four hours notice to the City Engineer
<br />before opening the street or alley, and the manner of excavating the
<br />trenches and laying the pipe and back-filling over same shall be subject to
<br />the approval of the City Engineer. All such work shall be planned and exe-
<br />cuted so that no injury shall occur to any public sewer or drain, or to any
<br />house sewer drain connected therewith.
<br />Section 10. The property owner, or plumber, or both, sha.ll be held
<br />responsible for any injuries the plumber shall cause to the sewer or street
<br />in making such connections.
<br />Section 11. The house sewer trench shall be dug so as to meet the
<br />public sewer at the position of the "Y" branch located by the City Engineer
<br />or his agexits. Proper barriers and lights must be maintained on the banks
<br />of the trench to guard the public against accidents during the progress of
<br />the worko In back-filling, the earth shall be carefully rammed or flooded
<br />so as to keep the pipe in proper position and avoid settling, and no stone
<br />shall be used in filling until there has been a depth of two (2) feet of fine
<br />earth or gravel placed over the pipe.
