Section 12. The Owner or occupant of any building not located within <br />the sanitary sewer district sha.ll be allowed to make connection with the <br />sewer system after obtaining a permit as hereinafter provided, and such <br />work of connection sha.ll be subject to the regulations and inspections herein <br />provided for and the Owner or occupant of any building thus connected <br />shall be required to pay the inspection, inatallation and service charges <br />herein executed. <br />Section 13. All persons or firms carrying on a plumbing or gas <br />fitting business before making any extensions or alterations to any pipes <br />or connections of the Faris Water Works or sewer system or gas pipes <br />must give bond in the sum of Five Hundred ($500. 00) Dollars, with two <br />good and sufficient sureties or Surety Company. Said Bond shall be <br />approved by the Finance Com.mittee and filed with the Superintendent of <br />Water Works and Sewers and shall be conditioned that all work shall be <br />done in a good and workmanlike manner without injury to any of the City <br />pipes or connections and that they shall indemnify the City and the property <br />owner for all damages occasioned by neglect or unskillful work done by <br />themselves or their employees. Said Bond is to be filed with the Drrector <br />of Public Works of the City of Paris. <br />Any plumber or persons engaged to do plumbing work before making <br />any extensions or alterations, or fitting any building for the introduction <br />of water, gas or sewer, from the City mains9 shall file with the Plumbing <br />Znspector a full description of the work contemplated. Said description shall <br />be ma.de in ink or pencil upon blanks furnished by the Plumbing Inspector <br />and shall state where, or for whom, and for what purpose the work is <br />w aflt e d. <br />It shall hereafter he unlawful for any person or persons to connect <br />with any sewer, public or private, or to do any plumbing in buildings with <br />sewer connections in the City of Paris, except in accordance with the <br />following provisians: <br />PLAN TO BE APPROVED, Before commencing work on any sewer, <br />gas or water connection, unless there are less than eight (8) fixtures, the <br />plan of the proposed connections and plumbing clearly indicated in ink or <br />pencil showing the location of 1he premises by atreet and number, and the <br />name of the Owner or occupant thereof, signed by the plumber, must be <br />filed with and approved by the Inspector and all work must strictly conform <br />ta the plans that rnay be approved by him in writing endorsed thereon. <br />Before any plumbing work of any character is begun it shall be the duty of <br />the plumber contractor, or owner to secure written permit for the doing <br />of said work from the Director of Public Works or his qualified representa- <br />tive, provided that no application need be made and no permit issued for re- <br />pairs or leaks in pipes, traps or cocks, opening up vvaste or supply pipes, <br />traps or drains, in replacing any broken fi.xture or water pipes, except that <br />if traps are not vented properly, they shall comply with this ordinance if <br />replaced. <br />A11 connections with the gublic sewers from the curb line nearest the <br />building to be connected shall be made only by the City Engineer or the <br />Superintendent of Water Works and Sewers or their authorized Agent. <br />Section 14. It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Works, or <br />his qualified representative~ to issue all permits for plumbing work in <br />connection with the sewer, water, and gas system and to collect all fees <br />required under this ordinance. It shall be the duty of the plumbing in- <br />spector to inspect and pass upon all such plumbing, to inspect any such <br />plumbing already in use or being constructed, which he may have reason <br />
