Section 24. No permit for a basement drain sha.ll be granted until the <br />Ovnner of the building has executed a signed and written agreernent releas- <br />ing the City of Paris, Texas from any damage that may result from base- <br />ment being flooded by the stoppage of aewers, which agreement shall be <br />filed with the City Plumbing Inspector and Engineer. <br />Section 25o No rain water or down-spout pipes, range boiler pipe, or <br />other pipe used to convey water or other substance of like character, ex- <br />cept the pipes necessary to plumbing systems, shall be connected to the <br />sewer system. <br />Section 26{a}. All waste pipes shall have extra heavy brass head <br />cleanouts at the foot of each stack or in the gard line close to the build- <br />ing, and shall be caulked and leaded into a cast iron fitting. All cleanouts <br />shall be brought to ground or floor level and be accesaible for inspection <br />or repair. Cleanouts shall be of same size as the waste pipe, except <br />where the pipe is larger than four inches (4"), then a four inch (41) <br />cleanout will be sufficient. All vent pipes shall extend at least one foot <br />(12) above the highest opening in the main roof, and when not vertical must <br />have a continuous grade. No fiber, plastic, or concretc pipe will be <br />accepted for such vents„ If any vent is within 15 feet of a roof opening <br />such as windows, doors, etc. y said vent shall extend a minimum of lY <br />above said openings. <br />Section 26.(b), The drain or soil pipe$ within or under all buildings <br />shall extend a distance of three feet (31) past the foundation of the buildin <br />and same must be cast iron. Waste lines sha.ll be not leas than two 2) <br />inches in diameter and shall be of cast iron, lead, copper, or brass, with <br />the exception that not over three feet (31) of waste line from soil stack to <br />trap shall not be less in size than the fixture trap, and shall be of lead9 <br />copper, brass, or galvanized pipe. <br />Section 26(c). Vent pipes shall be of lead, copper, brass, galvanized <br />iron, cast iron, or asbestos cement. No fiber, plastic, or concrete pipe <br />will be acceptable. <br />Section 26(d). The water service line from the water meter to the <br />building shall be not less than three-quarter inch (3/411) inside diameter <br />and shall have a master cut off placed in the service line between the <br />meter box and the building, and provided with a stop box brought to <br />ground or surface level for access with a cut off key. <br />Section 27, Fittings for drain and waste pipes shall be standard <br />cast iron and openings and change of directions for fixtures sha,ll be made <br />with Yxs, one-sixth, or one-sixteenth, or one eight bends. Sanitary TTs <br />and crosses or one-fourth bends will be allowed on vertical lines only. <br />The tapping of lateral lines by puncturing or drilling holes in the body of <br />the pipe is forbidden and will not be permittedo All connections made <br />subsequent to the completian of the line must be made as follows: If at <br />a point not provided with the necessary Y junction, a Y junction must be <br />inserted in proper position by removing three joints of the tiling and re- <br />connecting with asleeve all to be securely cemented in position. Connec- <br />tions in cast iron pipe must be made in the same manner, calking sleeve <br />with oakum and molten lead. <br />Section 28, Standard vent branches, inverted Ygs or tapped Tls <br />shall be used in openings left in vent pipes to revent fixtures. <br />
