Drainage Problems that the city is getting estimates on by contractors: 42l~d SE & Holbrook and 42l~d SE/82 to Old Clarksville Street. City Manager Malone said the approximate cost of these projects was $150,000.00. The projects will be managed through the City Engineer and Director of Public Works by taking quotes for the projects and the work will be done by the day. After a considerable amount of discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, setting the project priorities as presented and authorizing funding from the Certificates of Obligation - 2000. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 2001-053, authorizing the City Manager to negotiate a Professional Services Contract with Hayter Engineering Company for engineering services for the Wade Park, Lamar Avenue, and 24th Street SE Drainage Improvement Project, and authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the Professional Services Contract as negotiated, was presented. Reaves Hayter of Hayter Engineering came forward presenting photographs of the ditch and explaining that the proposed project which would involve enlarging the ditch from 24th SE to Collegiate, continuing on to Clark Lane, and widening the ditch north of Simpson Street. Mr. Hayter stressed to the City Council that this will be a complicated project because along the ditch is an old clay sewer line that is in bad condition. He also explained that additional right- of-way would be needed. Mr. Hayter said his company could have plans and specifications ready with construction under way by next year. He estimated the
