Jackson, <br />$33,470.00; 12th SE & Old Jefferson Road, $4,796.00; 16th NW & <br />Henderson, $12,588.00; 26th SE & Simpson, $1,100.00. <br /> <br />Drainage Problems that the city is getting estimates on by contractors: <br />42l~d SE & Holbrook and 42l~d SE/82 to Old Clarksville Street. <br /> <br />City Manager Malone said the approximate cost of these projects was <br />$150,000.00. The projects will be managed through the City Engineer and <br />Director of Public Works by taking quotes for the projects and the work will be <br />done by the day. <br /> <br />After a considerable amount of discussion, a motion was made by Councilman <br />Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, setting the project priorities as <br />presented and authorizing funding from the Certificates of Obligation - 2000. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-053, authorizing the City Manager to negotiate a <br />Professional Services Contract with Hayter Engineering Company for <br />engineering services for the Wade Park, Lamar Avenue, and 24th Street SE <br />Drainage Improvement Project, and authorizing and directing the City Manager <br />to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the Professional Services Contract as <br />negotiated, was presented. <br /> <br />Reaves Hayter of Hayter Engineering came forward presenting photographs of <br />the ditch and explaining that the proposed project which would involve <br />enlarging the ditch from 24th SE to Collegiate, continuing on to Clark Lane, and <br />widening the ditch north of Simpson Street. Mr. Hayter stressed to the City <br />Council that this will be a complicated project because along the ditch is an old <br />clay sewer line that is in bad condition. He also explained that additional right- <br />of-way would be needed. Mr. Hayter said his company could have plans and <br />specifications ready with construction under way by next year.
