J, HpNqGENIZED NIIK - Homogenized milk is milk which has been treated <br />in such a manner as to insure bxeak-up of the fat globules to such an extent <br />thato after 48 hours of quiescent storages no visible creamseparation occurs <br />on the milkv and the fat percentage of the top 100 milliliters of milk in a <br />quart bottle, or of proportionate volumes in containers of other 5izesldoes <br />not differ bymore than 10 percent of itself from the fat percentage of the <br />remaining milk as determined after thorough mixing. The word "milk" shall be <br />interpreted to include homogenized milk. <br />K. N[IIK PKODUCTS - Milk products shall be taken to mean and to include <br />creamg sour creamp half and halft reconstituted half and halfg whipped cream, <br />concentrated milk, concentrated milk productsg skim milkg nonfat milkg flavored <br />milk, flavored drink, flavored reconst1tuted mk v~d~~,ceconstituted drinkg <br />milk or skim milk beverage~ butterrnilk~j~cut`tu`re dm~ Pk.' vtan~n' D milko fortified <br />roilkp fortified milk productsv reconstituted or recombined milk# reconstitated <br />creamp reconstituted skira milkp and any other product made by the addition of <br />any substance to milkt or to any of these milk productsp and used for similar <br />}wrposedg and designated as a milk product by the health officer. <br />L. PASTEURIZATION - The term "pasteurizationg""pasteurized'• and similar <br />terms shall be taken to refer to the procsssof heating every particle of milk <br />or m31k products to at least 143 degrees F., and holding it at such temperature <br />continuously for at least 30 minutesg or to at least 161 degrees F.9 and <br />holding it at such temperature continuously for at least 15 seconds, in approved <br />and properly operated equipment: PMVIDgD that nothing contained in this defini- <br />tion shall be construed as barring any other process which has beendemonstrated <br />to be equally efficient and which is approved by the State health authority. <br />M. ADULIERATED AND MISBRANDED MIIK AND MIIK PRODUCTS - Any milk or <br />cream to which water has been addedg or any milk or milk product which contins <br />any unwholesome substancgp or whichg if defined in this ordinancep does not <br />conform with its definition, shall be deemed to be adulterated. Any milk or <br />milk product which carries a grade labels unless such grade label has been <br />awarded by the health officer and not revokedp or which fails toconform in <br />any other respect with the statement on the label, shall be deemed to be mis- <br />branded. <br />N. MIIIC PRODUCER - A milk producer is any person who owns or controls <br />one or more cowsp a part or all of the railk or milk products from which is <br />soldv or offered for sale. <br />p. MILK DISTRIBUTOR - A milk distributor is any person who offers for <br />sale or sells to another any milk or milk products for hwnan consumption as <br />such. <br />O-lo PFtODUCER-DISTRIBUTUR - A prodvicer-distributor is a milk producer <br />who is also a milk distributor. <br /> <br />
