3 <br />the purpose of making any inspection, re-inspection or test of electrical <br />equipment or installations thereat or therein. When any electrical equip- <br />ment is found by an inspector to be dangerous to persons or property because <br />it is defective or improperly installed, the person, fiim or corporation <br />owning the e2$trical equipment shall b e notified in writing and shall have <br />any changes or repairs made as required by the Electrical Inspector which <br />, will place such equipment in safe condition. If such work is not completed <br />within the period specified by the Insoector in the notice, the Inspector <br />shall have the authority to disconnect or order the disconnection of electric <br />service to the dangerous electrical equipmnto In cases of e.mergency, when <br />rbecessary for safety ta persons or property, or when electrical equipment <br />may interfere with the work of the Fi.re Department., the Senior Officer of <br />the Fire Depa.rtment at the site shall have the authority to ijmediately cause <br />the disconnection of any electrical equipmerrt. <br />Seetion 8. Special Perm.ission. The Electrical •Regulations of this Code <br />may be modified or waived by special permission in particular cases where such <br />modification or waiver is reasonable, does not differ from the intent of the <br />ordinance, and does not create an injustice. Such pezmission shall in all <br />cases be obtained frcm the Electrical Inspeetor in writing prior to starting <br />the work, and a copy of the permission shall be filsd in the office of the <br />Dire ctor of Public Works, <br />Section <br />9, E1e ctrical Contractor: <br />License Required. <br />The term "ELECTRICAL <br />00NTRAC'IbR" as <br />used in this Ordinance is <br />defined to mean and <br />include any persono <br />finn or corporation engaged in the business of, or holding themselves out to the <br />public as being engaged in the busiress 4 installing or repairing, or con- <br />tracting to install or repair any electrical wiring, conduits, fixtures, de- <br />vices, apparatus and equipment for carrying, using or consuming ele ctrical <br />energy for which a pemlit is required by the provisions of this Ordinance. <br />QUALIFICATIONS. Before any person, finn or corporation shall engage in <br />the business of electrical Contractor as defined herein, application shall be <br />made ~ to the Ele ctrical Inspe ctor for license. The applicant sha]1 then be re- <br />quired to appear before the E],ectrical Board and be examined as to his qualifi- <br />cations to do elOctrical work.
