<br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />lO6 <br /> <br />Street Improvement Bonds. <br /> <br />. . <br />street improvement bonds," to bear date Oct. ISt, A. D. 1889, <br />and to be payable on the first day of Oct., 1929, at some bank in <br />the city of New York, and to bear interest from date at the rate <br />of five per centum per annum, payable semi-annually on the tenth <br />days of January and July of each year, as per coupons to be at- <br />tached thereto, and the mayor and the s~cretary of the city are <br />hereby directed to have said bonds lithographed and to sign and <br />countersign the same with the impress of the seal of the city <br />attached. <br />SEC. 2. That said bonds shall specify for what purpose they <br />are issued, and when so issued shall be registered with the comp- <br />troller of the state. and shall be sold for not less than par, and <br />when ~old the proceeds shall be used for the purpose of opening and <br />improving the streets, avenues, and alleys of thecity in such manner <br />as may be ordered by the city council; that the right shall be re- <br />served to payoff any and' all of the series of bonds at any time after <br />the expiration of twenty years from the date of said bonds by calling <br />in the bonds by consecutive numbers, beginning with number one, <br />after giving sixty days written notice of such call at the bank in <br />the city of New York where payment is to be made and also after <br />publishing notice thereof in some well known financial journal, <br />published in the city of New York for ten consecutive days prior <br />to such call, and after depositing the money therefor with the bank <br />designated in such notice. <br />SEC. 3. That there is hereby levied an annual advalorem <br />tax of one-tenth of one per centum on all taxable property, real <br />and personal, situated in the city of Paris and subject to taxation <br />for the purpose ~f paying the interest upon said bonds and creat- <br />ing a sinking fund of not less than two per centum to redeem the <br />same. <br /> <br />SEC. 4. This ordinance to take effect and be in force from <br />. <br />and after its passage. <br />Adopted Sept. 23, 1889, approved Sept. 24, I889' <br />Attest, M. J.
