A city attorney shall be elected by the qualified <br /> voters of this city as provided in ordinance for election of ci <br /> officers, who shall take the usnal oath of office and shall hold his <br /> office for two years and until his successor shall have been clscted, <br /> and qualified. <br /> <br /> SEC. 2. The city attorney shall be a licensed la~vyer. <br /> Sac. 3' It shall be the duty of the city attorney to attend to <br /> all cases of this city in all the courts of the State, to attend the <br /> mayor's Court and prosecute all violations of the ordinances of <br /> this city, to advise the officers of the city, the city council and its <br /> committees when requested, and to give his opinion to the council <br /> on auy legal question when reqnested to do so, to draw all deeds, <br /> contracts, etc., when requested to do so, to revise all ordinances <br /> before their final passage by the council, and see that they con- <br /> form to the state laws, to :~tteud the meeting of the city council, to <br /> draft ordinances on motion of the conncil, and to perform such <br /> other duties as the council requires. <br /> <br /> <br /> NUMBER IX. <br /> <br /> CITY MAI', <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE to protect thc city map. <br /> <br /> SECTION I. It shall be unhtwful for auy person to mm'k with <br /> any pen, pencil or other thing, or to disfignrc, deface, mark or in <br /> any wise change, alter or injure thc map of thc city of Paris. d <br /> sigucd and executed in I878, and known as "Johnson's Map of <br />auks and batteries and <br /> Paris," provided that this section shall not apply to any person or <br />~d mitigating the same <br /> persons acting uuder the directiou or order of the city council, and <br />part' of thc law of this <br /> any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be <br /> deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof <br /> shall be fined not less than ten nor more than one hundred dollars <br /> for each and every offense. <br /> <br /> <br />
