<br /> <br />76 <br /> <br />Fees and Salaries. <br /> <br /> <br />receive such additional salary or fees as may be hereafter fixed by <br />the ordinance requiring such duties. <br />Regular policemen of the city shall receive a salary of fifty <br />dollars per month. <br />The city assessor and collector shall receive for assessing the <br />taxes three cents on each one hundred dollars for the first two mil- <br />lion dollars assessed valuation of property, and two and one-half <br />cents on each additional one hundred dollars, to be paid out of the <br />first money collected on the rolls for the year the taxes are as- <br />sessed, and for collecting the taxes he shall receive two and one- <br />half per cent. of all the money collected by him, and in addition <br />thereto he shall be furnished with an office, and all books, blanks <br />and stationery necessary for the discharge of the duties of his of- <br />fice. The city assessor and collector shall give a bond in the sum <br />of twenty-five thousand dolla~s, with two or more good and suf- <br />ficient sureties, payable to the mayor and his successor in office, <br />and conditioned for a faithful performance of his duties as such <br />officer, to be approved by the city council. ' <br />The city treasurer shall receive commission on the money re- <br />ceived and paid out by him as follows: For all school funds by <br />him paid out he shall receive a commission of one per centnm, <br />and for all other money paid one per centum, and the city treas- <br />urer shall give two bonds, each of twenty-five thousand dollars, <br />one for the school fund and the other to cover all other character <br />of m'oneys, funds, or property belonging to the city that may come <br />into his hands by virtue of being city treasurer, each conditioned <br />as required by law, and to be approved by the city council. <br />Aldermen shall receive each three dollars fo~ each regular or <br />called meeting they may attend. No alderman shall receive any <br />pay for any meeting of the council when he was not present. <br />The city physician shall receive a salary of fifty dollars per <br />annum, to be paid monthly, and such other compensation as may <br />be allowed by the council for services rendered. <br />This ordinance adopted May 13, I889, and approved by th e <br />mayor the 16th day of May, 1889. <br />Attest, M.
