<br /> <br /> <br />CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX. <br /> <br />PAYMENT OF SALARIES. <br /> <br />AN 'ORDINANCE providing- for payment of salarie8 of policemen and other officers, <br /> <br />Be it ordained by the city council of the city of Paris: <br /> <br />SEC. 1. That a warrant be drawn upon the treasury of the <br />city of Paris for the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars, to be <br />paid January 1st, 1890, out of the current funds of the city, and <br />bearing interest from the date of its issuance, at 6 per cent. per <br />annum, until paid, which warrant shall be signed by the mayor <br />and city secretary, with the impress of the seal of the city thereon. <br />SEC. 2. When such warrant shall be issued the city treas- <br />urer shall, if there is a sufficient amount of sinking funds in his <br />bands to pay the face value of the warrant, purchase the same <br />with such sinking fund, and hold the warrant to the credit of the <br />fund or funds thus invested, noting on the back of the warrant <br />what fund or funds have been invested in it, and when such war- <br />rant s hall become due he shall transfer from the current fund the <br />amount of the warrant, together with the accrued interest thereon <br />to the proper sinking fund and cancel the warrant. <br />SEC. 3. The money thus arising from the investment in such <br />wan'nt shall be by the treasurer set aside as a special fund, to be <br />known as the police fund, and shall only be paid out by him in <br />payment of warrants drawn for the salaries of the city marshal, <br />street commissioner, city engineer, employes in the fire depart- <br />ment, sanitary policeman, and regular policemen of the city, and <br />for such other purposes as may be specially ordered by the city <br />council, and only such warrants as may be hereafter issued against <br />such fund. <br />SEC. 4.
