Provided the prospective bidder complies with neither of <br />the two above requirements, the sum of Ten Dollars $10.00) <br />shall become the prope.rty of the City of Paris, Texas. <br />SC. 7 Award of Contract <br />The City of Paris will notify the successful bidder, in <br />writing, within ten (10) days after the date o£ receiving bids, <br />of its acceptance of his Proposal. The Contractor shall complete <br />the execution of the required Bond and Contract within ten (10) <br />days of such notice. <br />SC. 8 Liquidated Damages For Delay <br />The Contractor agrees that time is the essence of this <br />Contract, and that for each day of delay beyond the number of <br />calendar days herein agreed upon for the completion of the work <br />herein specified and contracted for (after due allowance for <br />such extension of time as provided for in the General Conditions <br />of Agreement) the owner may withhold, pern!anently, from the Con- <br />tractor's total compensation, the sum of thirty-five Dollars <br />($35.00) as stipulated damages for such delay. <br />SC. 9 Examination of Site of Project <br />Prospective bidders shall make a careful examination of the <br />site of the project, conditions to be encountered, improvements <br />to be protected, and safety requirements necessary to protect the <br />public, and keep the Library open to the public. <br />SC. 10 Qualifications of Low Bidder <br />Before being awarded a contract the low bidder shall submit such <br />evidence as the Engineer-ma~• require to estahlish his financial <br />responsibility, experience and possession of such equipment as <br />may be needed to prosecute the work in an expeditious, safe and <br />satisfactory manner. <br />Should the low bidder fail to produce evidence satisfactory to <br />the Engineer on any of the foregoing points he may be disqualified <br />and the work awarded to the next low bidder qualifying. <br />SC. 11 Addenda <br />Bidders desirinq further information or interpretation of the <br />Plans or Specifications must make request for such information to <br />the Engineer, prior to 48 hours before the bid apening. Answer tc <br />all such requests will be given in writing to all bidders, in <br />Addendum Form, and all Acldenda will be bound <<*ith, and made a part <br />of, the Contract Document. No other Explanation or interpretation <br />will be considereci official or binding. Should a bic3der find <br />discrepancies in, or omissions from, the Plar.s, Specifications, <br />or other Contract Documents, or should he be in doubt as to their <br />SC-2 <br />
