Paris Santa Fe-Ffisco Depot Rehabilitation © KEYSTONE ARCHITECTS <br /> July 10, 2001 <br /> <br />SECTION 02281 TERMITE CONTROL <br /> <br />SECTION 02281: TERMITE CONTROL <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.01 GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> A. As specified in Divisions 00 and 01 apply to all work in this Section.. <br /> <br />1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> A. Provide soil treatment for termite control at the building and the ground area within 30 <br /> feet of the building perimeter as specified herein. <br /> <br />1.03 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Soil shall be treated against termites by a Pest Control Operator licensed and certified as <br /> a commercial applicator by the State of Texas. <br /> <br /> B. The Contractor shall notify the Construction Manager at least one day before application <br /> of chemicals. <br /> <br /> C. A totalizing meter shall be provided to determine application rates and to indicate more <br /> than five feet from the applicator at all times. <br /> <br /> D. Pumping equipment shall be a type normally used and be capable of pumping the <br /> working solution in a manner accepted and practiced by the Pest Control Industry. <br /> <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. The Contractor shall submit to the Construction Manager for approval, 5 copies of the <br /> label for the chemical he proposes to use. <br /> <br />1.05 GUARANTEE <br /> A. The Contractor shall furnish a written warranty in 3 copies to the City of Paris stating: <br /> <br /> 1. The chemical concentration, rates and method of application complied with <br /> these specifications; <br /> <br /> 2. The effectiveness of the treatment is guaranteed for a period of not less than <br /> two (2)years from the date of final application of the treatment; <br /> <br /> 3. All necessary repairs of damages resulting from subterranean termite infestation <br /> within a period of one (1) year from the date of project completion <br /> acceptance will be made at the Contractor's own expense up to a total <br /> cost of $5,000,000.00. <br /> <br /> 4. If subterranean termite infestation should occur through the treated area within <br /> the two (2) year guarantee period, the soil shall be relxeated to <br /> exterminate ail infestation without cost to the Owner as stipulated below. <br /> The application rates shall be as given by the label of the chemical being <br /> Section 02281 <br /> Page 1-2 <br /> <br /> <br />
