Reinforcing Bars. All reinforcing bars shall be defon'neck new billet steel bars, <br /> Grade 60 (unless otherwise shown on the plans), free of loose rust or mill scale, <br /> having no kinks or bends not shown on the drawings. All bars shall be cut to size <br /> and fabricated as per slructoral drawings and delivered to the job site properly <br /> tagged and identified. Reinforcing bars shall be fabricated in accordance with the <br /> standards of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute, ACI 315, and ACI 318, latest <br /> version. <br /> <br /> 3. Wire Mesh: Wire mesh shall be standard, smooth, welded wire fabric of the gauges <br /> and spacing shown on the plans, and conforming to the ASTM Standards noted <br /> above. Mesh shall be free of loose mst, scale, off, hardened concrete or other <br /> substance which might decrease bond. <br /> <br /> 4. Tie Wire. No. 18 gauge soft annealed black wire. <br /> <br /> D. Miscellaneous Items: See drawings for miscellaneous angles, plates, etc. required. It is not <br /> the intention of the Specification to enumerate all the individual items of miscellaneous <br /> metal items required. The Contractor(s) shall carefully examine the drawings and shall <br /> furnish all materials required to carry out the evident intent of the Drawings in a proper <br /> manner and according to best current practice. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> A. Forms: <br /> <br /> 1. The Contractor shall employ an experienced surveyor to supply all necessary lines <br /> and levels to insure that all finished concrete work is properly located, slraight, txu¢, <br /> square and sloped not less than 1/8" per foot as necessary to provide positive <br /> drainage away from entire building perimeter. <br /> <br /> 2. AH vertical concrete surfaces shall be formed with wood, including edges of walk.~, <br /> slabs on grade, steps on grade and exposed portions of grade beams. If the earth <br /> will stand reasonably vertical and firm during excavating and concrete pouting, no <br /> forms need be constructed for concrete below grade. <br /> <br /> 3. Form construction and removal shall conform to the recommendations and <br /> requirements of appropriate sections A(2I Standard 347 and ACI Code 318, latest <br /> version. AH form work shall be placed straight, level, plumb and tree to line, <br /> sufficiently supported, braced and tied to rigidly support the loads involved without <br /> movement, and constructed to maximize resistance to shortening of the member. AH <br /> joints in form work shall be tight and neat to prevent leakage or irregularities in the <br /> exposed surface. <br /> <br /> 4. The Contractor shall check with all other trades and make certain that all piping, <br /> conduit, sockets, insects, sleeves, anchors, bolts, etc., required by the various trades <br /> are properly placed and supported to prevent movement during placement of <br /> concrete. <br /> <br /> Section 03300 <br /> Page 3-6 <br /> <br /> <br />
