Confirm <br /> acceptability of location with Construction Manager prior to execution of test <br /> patches. Repeat test patches as requested by Construction Manager until <br /> acceptable application is achieved. <br /> <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br /> 2.01 MATERIALS: Materials which may be acceptable for masonry discoloration and <br /> graffiti removal include: <br /> Distilled Water <br /> Non-Ionic Detergents <br /> Gel Paint Remover, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) <br /> Organic Solvents, acetone, lacquer thinner, in poultices <br /> Dimethyl Adipate <br /> Denatured Alcohol <br /> Mineral Spirits <br /> <br />2.02 Poultices: Poultices should be prepared in order to allow the cleaning solution to be <br />kept in contact with the stained area for as long as possible and allow the cleaning solution to <br />pull the staining material out of the substrate without re-depositing it. <br /> <br /> A.Formulate poultices in conformance with cleaning solution manufacturer's <br /> recommendations. Poultice matedais may include inert clay, diatomaceous earth <br /> (fuller's earth) or cellulose products such as pulp cellulose, mixed with a cleaning <br /> solution to form a paste or slurry. <br /> <br /> B. Poultices shall be custom, field batch-mixed mixtures. It will be necessary to engage <br /> in substantial field testing in order to perfect an acceptable methodology and <br /> contractor shall allot adequate time and resources to conduct this work. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br /> A.
