Where not contradicted sauctumlly, repair damaged wood components by cutting <br /> away damaged wood and splicing new wood onto remaining sound wood. New <br /> wood should match existing adjacent wood profile and texture and meet quality <br /> standards for wood trim as specified in Section 6200 - Finish Carpentry. <br /> <br /> E. If splicing new replacement wood onto adjacent wood which is weathered, treat <br /> weathered wood with a solution of 24 oz. exterior varnish, 1 oz paraffin wax and <br /> enough mineral spirits/tmpentine to make 1 Gallon. Apply liberally by brash to <br /> saturation point. Allow wood to dry thoroughly before proceeding. No spray <br /> application will be allowed. <br /> <br /> F. If existing wood cannot be repaired by splicing, replace entire piece in-kind with <br /> respect to size, profile, methodology and aesthetic appearance. New wood must <br /> match existing adjacent wood profile and texture and meet quality standards for wood <br /> trim as specified in Section 6200 - Finish Carpentry.
