As specified in Divisions 00 and 01 apply to all work in this Section.. <br /> <br />1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> <br /> A. Work Included: Inspections and tests performed by independent agencies, governing <br /> authorities, the Construction Manager and the Contractor(s) as required by the <br /> Owner, Architect, Engineers or as specified in Project Manual. Inspection and <br /> testing services are intended to determine compliance of the work with <br /> requirements specified. Specific quality control requirements are specified in individual <br /> specification Sections. <br /> <br />1.03 RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br /> A. Owner Responsibilities: Except where specifically indicated as being the Contractor's <br /> responsibility, quality control services are the Owner's responsibility, <br /> including those specified to be performed by an independent agency and not <br /> by the Contractor. The Owner shall employ and pay an independent, owner- <br /> approved agency, testing laboratory or other qualified fu'm to perform quality <br /> control services specified. <br /> <br /> 1. The Owner will engage and pay for services of an independent agency <br /> to perform those inspections and tests that are specified as Owner's <br /> responsibilities. <br /> <br /> B. Retest Responsibility: Where results of inspections or tests do not indicate <br /> compliance with Contract requirements, the cost of retesting shall be the <br /> Contractor's responsibility. <br /> <br /> C. Responsibility for Associated Services: The Contractor shall cooperate with <br /> independent agencies performing inspections or tests and provide auxiliary <br /> services as are reasonable to facilitate testing at no additional cost to Owner, including: <br /> <br /> 1. Provide access to the work. <br /> 2. Assist taking samples. <br /> <br />1.04 COORDINATION: <br /> <br /> A. The Owner, Contractor and independent test agencies shall coordinate the sequence <br /> of their activities. Avoid removing and replacing work to accommodate <br /> inspections and tests.
