Perform pumping, trenching, damming, and under-draining necessary to keep <br /> building and site free from water during construction. <br /> <br /> 2. Dispose of water in manner acceptable to local re .gnlations, taking care to insure <br /> that no existing water disposal facilities are nnpeded, clogged, damaged or <br /> interfered with in any way. <br /> <br /> 3. Provide temporary watertight enclosures for any and all portions of demolition <br /> or restoration work which would otherwise be exposed to the dements. <br /> Submit written and/or graphic descriptions of all planned weather protection <br /> measures to Construction Manager for approval. Do not commence <br /> demolition or restoration work prior to approval of weather protection <br /> plans. <br /> <br /> C. Illumination: When any work is performed at night or where daylight is obscured, <br /> Contractors shall provide artificial light sufficient to illuminate the work properly and to <br /> permit thorough inspection. <br /> <br /> D. Shoring and Underpinning: <br /> <br /> 1. Provide temporary shoring, underpinning or whatever other measures, <br /> including their structural engineering by licensed structural engineer, <br /> necessary to prevent movement, settlement, or collapse of structures or <br /> property. <br /> <br /> 2. Determine methods and procedures to be used, construct, and maintain such <br /> measures and be fully responsible for both their design and execution to <br /> extent of making good damage caused by neglect or failure of these <br /> measures. <br /> <br /> 3. Employ Structural Engineer licensed in Texas to use title "Structural <br /> Engineer" and pay costs of engineering design and inspection of shoring, <br /> underpinning, scaffolding and such measures as required by local building <br /> codes. <br /> <br /> 4. Take preventative measures and be responsible for preventing overloading <br /> portions of structure beyond calculated safe carrying capacities during <br /> and after demolition and restoration. <br /> <br /> 5. Install protective covetings, tapes, coatings, paper, plastic, etc. as required to <br /> protect original and existing materials, components, fixtures and finishes from <br /> potential damage from ongoing work and as directed by the Construction <br /> Manager. <br /> <br /> 6. Remove, store and protect historic components which may be damaged from <br /> ongoing consauction work and'as directed by the Architect. <br /> Section 01500 <br /> Page 4-6 <br /> <br /> <br />
