Hunter <br />GENERAL BIOGRAPHY <br />Michael Hunter, founder and president of Hunter & Hunter Consultants, Inc., actively <br />promotes the company's philosophy of creating strong, healthy and viable communities <br />th developing gdaand b e'hous ngninte active educateon,aand efFec v go emance.S <br />devlopment, <br />Mr. Hunter offers his clients over 27 years of experience in the affordable SHunter <br />community development and economic development arenas. Specificafly, <br />provides his clients personal, hands-on experience in marketing; project design and <br />development; leveraging and funds acquisition; skrategic planning; land acquisition; <br />business recruitment, retention and expanston; affordable housing finance; <br />infrastructure development and financing; proposal reviews; single family and multi- <br />family housing construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction; developing infill projects <br />for vacant lots; housing development design; down payment and closing cost assistance <br />programs; etderly and special needs housing; acquisition, rehabilitation and resale of <br />existing properties; and land banking. <br />Additionally, clients have access to his experience in project monitoring; construction <br />mana9ement; performing and overseeing environmentat assessments; project design; <br />Davis-Bacon l.abor Standards monitoring; federal financial reporting requirements; anci <br />organi2ational deveiopment and management. Under state and federal contracts, Mr. <br />Hunter has provided technical assistance to new and existing non-profit, Community <br />Housing Development Organlzations ("CHDOs") throughout Texas. He has helped <br />establish new, charitable, non-profit organizations; has developed active neighborhoocl <br />homeowner groups and has successful{y managed non-profit organizations. <br />Mr. Hunter has extensive experience working on projects funded through HUD and Texas <br />Department of Housing and Community Affairs. Mr. Hunter managed the Community <br />Development Block Grant Program for the City of Garland for a four-year pertod and, in <br />that position, helped finance infrastructure repair, a business incubator, park <br />development and improvement, housing and soctal services. While with the City of <br />Dallas, he helped create the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department ancf <br />Office of Public Affafrs and redesigned the Planning and Oevelopment Department. He: <br />marketed the programs of the City of Dallas through televiston and radio commercials he <br />produced and by representing the City ak trade fairs. He also worked for First Southwest <br />Company for three years, where he developed one of the first grants acquisition divisions <br />of an investment bank in the country. In 1996, he left First Southwest Company and <br />formed Hunter & Hunter Consultants, Inc. where he currently provides a variety of <br />services to clients in the housing, economic development, community development and <br />education fields.
