City Council Meeting <br />September 26, 2000 <br />Page 3 <br />discussions and reach resolution of several issues. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, seconded <br />by Councilman McCarthy, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone recommended that the next two agenda items be tabled, <br />which were Agenda Item No.3F, authorizing the execution of a lease of the City <br />of Paris's three-tenths (3/10) undivided interest in and to Lots 1, 2, and 2A, City <br />Block 201-13, to the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, and Agenda Item <br />No. 3G, authorizing the execution of the agreement with the Visitors and <br />Convention Council related to the use of Hotel/Motel taxes. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, to table Agenda Item No. 3F and Agenda Item No. 3G. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Malone advised the City Council that Agenda Item No. 3H, <br />approving the City of Paris's participation in the Denton vs. TXU Utilities <br />Company, et al, case relating to delinquent franchise fees, had been tabled at <br />the last City Council meeting, and recommended that it remain on the table. <br />No action was taken on this matter. <br />A motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, to adjourn the meeting.
