Ms. Lester presented photographs of the mobile homes. Ms. <br />Lester asked for the City Council's consideration in this matter. <br />Marilyn Smith, 844 14th N. W. Street, came forward speaking in favor of the <br />placement of the mobile home. Ms. Smith said she lived in a mobile home for <br />ten years and they have been greatly improved from that time. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to appear, and Marcus Graves, 1120 W. <br />Long Street, appeared before the City Council stating that he was born and <br />raised in that house, and he cannot see placing a$2,000.00 structure next to a <br />six digit structure, and it would not be done in any other part of the city, and <br />wanted to know why are we trying to do it in West Paris. He said putting a <br />mobile home in West Paris will just bring it down that much more. Mr. Graves <br />said you could sit on his front porch and see the mobile home. Mr. Graves <br />asked the City Council to consider this in making their decision. <br />Mary Lester came forward stating that it was not true about Mr. Graves being <br />able to see the mobile home from his front porch. Ms. Lester said she has lived <br />live in that neighborhood for 32 years, and she has never seen Mr. Graves <br />before this. <br />Councilman McCarthy said he could attest that Mr. Graves has lived there all <br />his life. <br />Charlene Mulligan, 226 West. Washington, also appeared in opposition to the <br />zoning change. <br />Terry Pendergrass, 837 13th N. W. Street, appeared before the City Council in <br />support ofthe mobile home being placed on this location. Mr. Pendergrass said <br />they were not planning to live there forever, just long enough for Ms. Lester to <br />get out of school and they will be moving out of the city. <br />
