City Council Meeting <br />September 7, 2000 <br />Page 8 <br />change, and as they could see, the cars will not be going that direction. <br />Chad Fleming, 545 32nd N. E., came forward presenting the City Council with <br />pictures of their home with two vehicles in the driveway, and their garage has <br />been closed in and they could not park in there per a statement made at the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission's meeting. Mr. Fleming said he looked at <br />that persons' home who made that statement and their garage was closed with <br />two cars parked in the driveway just like his mother and dad's. Mr. Fleming <br />asked that the Council approve the rezoning request. <br />City Manager Malone advised the City Council that the city had received a call <br />from Michele Richardson, 815 32nd N. E. Street, and she stated she was unable <br />to attend the meeting and wanted to support Ms. Fleming's petition for a day <br />care located in her home. City Manager Malone said it was Ms. Richardson's <br />opinion that it would not increase traffic in this area and it would not devalue <br />the property in the neighborhood. <br />Lee Ann Sartor, 182 Preston Drive, came forward stating she was here in <br />support of Ms. Fleming's petition, and stated that Ms. Fleming keeps her <br />children. Ms. Sartor said these people moved into this neighborhood in good <br />faith, they were going to keep eight children in their home. Ms. Sartor she was <br />in favor of the rezoning petition. <br />Debra McCane, 324 N. E. 28th Street, Ms. McCane said she lives <br />approximately six blocks from the location in question. Ms. McCane said she <br />is a full-time student and her husband drives Pine Mill Road everyday and this <br />would not affect the traffic flow. Ms. McCane said if she loses her daycare she <br />will have to quit school. She pointed out that you can not find good day care <br />in Paris. Ms. McCane said could not see what the problem is. <br />Windy Fleming, 640 Margaret Street, appeared before the City Council stating <br />that Nell Fleming is her mother-in-law and she keeps her daughter in her home <br />and she was appearing in support of the zoning change. <br />
