City Council Meeting <br />September 7, 2000 <br />Page 16 <br />City Manager Malone presented bids for furnishing and delivery of <br />Polyacrylamide for use at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and only one bid <br />had been received that being from Fort Bend Service in the amount of $0.99 <br />per pound. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Plata, seconded by Councilman Carter, to <br />award the bids to Fort Bend Service in the amount of $0.99 per pound. The <br />motion carried 5 ayes, o nays. <br />Resolution No. 2000-127, approving the lease agreement between the City of <br />Paris and Archers for Christ for a portion of Lake Crook property, for a period <br />of one (1) year, beginning October 1, 2000, and ending September 30, 2001, <br />was presented. <br />City Attorney Schenk pointed out that there is a current lease with this <br />organization for the use of the property at Lake Crook, and advised the City <br />Council that there is an on going study on the use of Lake Crook, and the city <br />did not want to interrupt the Archer's very worthwhile program before the city <br />receives the results of the study. City Attorney Schenk advised the City <br />Council that a proposed one year extension of their existing contract is being <br />presented. <br />Steve Pearson and Mark Rothfuss came forward, passed out a copy of the <br />Archers for Christ Master Plan for Community Involvement & Support, <br />Regional Preeminence & Recognition, Membership Growth, Range <br />Development, and Land Stewardship & Animal Husbandry, which they hoped <br />to integrate with the City's Master Plan for the development of Lake Crook. <br />They also passed out a copy of their Mission Statement and a draft copy of their <br />Bylaws. Mr. Pearson said he hoped when the City Council gets a chance to <br />read those, they will see that the Archers for Christ have been good stewards <br />for this property and they have been a very viable asset to the community and <br />that their Master Plan call for them to have more community involvement in <br />sports and to strive to achieve more recognition for archery in North Texas and <br />
