City Manager Malone said the city revenue <br />accounts have been adjusted to show a$10,000.00 revenue from the <br />V&CC. <br />City Manager Malone handed out notes pertaining to the Paris Public <br />Library's budget along with a memorandum from Ms. Lewis with some of <br />her concerns about items that he has cut from this budget. <br />City Manager Malone pointed out that there have been a number of <br />reductions in the previous year and there are a number of items where the <br />request has been cut. City Manager Malone said Library Director Beverly <br />Lewis has made some personnel requests which he has not placed in the <br />budget, such as adding 8 hours a week to a Clerk I position to make a full <br />time position for Technical Processing, adding 10 hours a week to a Clerk <br />I- Public/Technical Processing to make a full time position, reclassifying <br />a Clerk II to Paraprofessional - Cataloging, and adding an additional Clerk <br />I for the Children's Library. He said the reclassifications will be <br />considered after receipt of the salary and wage study. Steps due will be <br />given and adjustments will be considered after receipt of the study. <br />City Manager Malone went to the capital outlay portion of the Library <br />budget. He said the request under Furniture and Fixtures has been reduced <br />from $3,500.00 to $2,000.00 for shelves and reading chairs. Under <br />Machinery, Tools, Equipment, the requested $8,000.00 is for a new <br />security system for inventory control, and under the line item Books, the <br />requested amount of $176,500.00 was reduced to $155,000.00, which is <br />slightly under the appropriation in the fiscal year previous to this. <br />On a question by Councilman Plata, Terry Townsend, Director of Public <br />Works, came forwarding discussing equipment that has been requested for <br />the Parks - Right-of-Ways Division.
