A <br />motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for consideration of and action on a motion <br />approving the solicitation of proposals and quotations, in an amount not <br />to exceed $2,500.00 per unit, forthe purchase of nine laptop computers for <br />the implementation of the Paperless Agenda Project. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Manning, approving the solicitation of proposals and quotations, in an <br />amount not to exceed $2,500.00 per unit, for the purchase of nine laptop <br />computers for the implementation of the Paperless Agenda Project. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Schenk advised the City Council that he has included in their <br />packets an information item pertaining to the rate adjustment under case <br />number FCC 140 and 1205 from Cox Communications. He explained that <br />what every cable company goes through, is to fill out federal mandated <br />forms similar to income tax forms; he has included a portion of the form <br />for their review. City Attorney Schenk said that results in a rate that will be <br />authorized pursuant to the rates established by the federal law. City <br />Attorney Schenk said Mr. Tim Masters forwarded this information to the <br />City and noted this will result in an increase in basic service rates from the <br />current $10.51 to $11.10 effective May 1, 2001. City Attorney Schenk <br />pointed out that under the federal forms the company has justified raising <br />the rate to $11.31 and they prefer not to do that. The other adjustments <br />have to do with installation of equipment rates and those are set out in the <br />proposed rate structure, and this is information only. <br />City Manager Malone reported that the Salary and Wage Study is not <br />complete and it is hoped it will be completed in March. He said the final <br />report should make recommendations about the implementation of any <br />changes to salaries and wages. <br />City Manager Malone explained the status of the Santa Fe - Frisco Depot <br />Project. The inmates of the Buster-Cole Unit of the Bonham State Jail are <br />working with Wendell Moore of Hanson and Associates to complete the <br />roofing. They are working on the dormers at this time.
