Garza of Keystone Architects, this week
in Austin and it is hoped that there will be a resolution of some of the
problems with the specifications. A second round of bidding could then
take place in March.
Regarding the status of Fire and EMS Stations Number 2 and 4, City
Manager Malone said the city is waiting for completion of the natural gas
lines at Fire and EMS Station Number 2, which is 92% complete. He said
the project should be completed within a month when the gas line is
installed. He advised that Fire and EMS Station Number 4 is ready to be
bricked and is 57% complete, and the estimated completion time is from
three to three and one-half months.
City Manager Malone reported that all of the streets, water lines, and sewer
lines are installed, but the lift station has not as yet been installed for the
Eastgate Subdivision Project. He said they are about to start construction
on the first home.
City Manager Malone said the improvements have been completed and the
street has been repaired with exception of some repairs to a carport and
driveway for the Neatherly Street Drainage Project.
City Manager Malone also reported that the outfall line of the Sanitary
Sewer Evaluation Survey Repair Project is about complete. They lack two
28 foot pre-cast manholes and tying into the main line. He said the city
is about to begin a 5,000 foot replacement of a clay tile sewer line in the
3200 block of West Houston. Work has been completed on a manhole on
about 300 feet line on West Austin behind Heritage Hall.
City Manager Malone reported that city staff is in the process of reviewing
proposals from various engineering firms and will be making a
recommendation about selection of an engineer for the Main Street
Downtown Streetscape Project.
City Manager Malone advised the City Council that Maria Pope has updated
the Paris Web Site and she is continuing to work making corrections along
with making additions.
City Manager Malone advised the City Council that staff is continuing to
bring together all of the components necessary for the Paperless Agenda
