The.- Brown County Water Improvement District #1's plant was one of the first in West Texas to urilize tube settlers for not only enhanced clarificarion, but for reduction of the state of Texas required six hour detention rime. With the addirion of the tube settlers, the sedimentarion basin detention time has been reduced from six hours to two hours, resulting in a substantial construcrion cost savings while demonstraang excellent clarificarion capabiliries.
