Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />July 2, 2002 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF-3), Lot 5-A, City Block 294, being <br />the 3000 Block of Aikin Drive. <br /> <br />Motion was made to approve by Eddie Vincent and seconded by Bobby <br />Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Bobby Myers to excuse Curtis Fendley from <br />consideration of the next item, seconded by Louis Yates, Jr. Motion <br />carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Public Hearing to consider the petition ofLeann Sartor for a change in <br />zoning from a General Retail District (GR) to a General Retail District <br />(GR) With Specific Use Permit No. (3) Auto Laundry, Lot 21, City <br />Block 249, being number 2926 Lamar Avenue. <br /> <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br />There was no one present to speak in favor of the petition. <br /> <br />Fred Eatherly, 2925 Margaret, spoke in opposition to the petition <br />stating that he did receive the notification letter and had spoken with <br />neighbors who did not want the car wash there. <br /> <br />Ms. Eatherly stated that the car wash would be in her back'yard and <br />she does not want it there. Ms. Eatherly stated that the car wash will <br />create noise and she is upset with the existing car wash. Another car <br />wash would only create more noise. She stated that when she bought <br />the lot she knew something commercial would go there. <br /> <br />Russell Gifford, 2915 Margaret, stated that the car wash would be <br />directly behind his house and he does not want the noise that it will <br />bring. <br /> <br /> <br />
