Division 2-A Site Work <br />E%ISTING TOP SOIL CONT'D: This topsoil shall be stockpiled <br />away from the building during construction, then replaced <br />around the building to the grades shown on plans. <br />BIIILDING LINES AND GRADES: The Contractor shall set <br />"reference lines and set well protected stakes at extremes <br />of each "reference line" outside of the building area. <br />From these reference lines set all batter boards and set <br />floor line. <br />E%CAVATION AND REMOVAL OF OLD SANZTARy LAND F=I'I': After <br />top soil has been removed and stockpiled, excavate under <br />building and 3'-0" outside of floor area. This excavation <br />is to remove debris placed on this site as a sanitary <br />landfill several years ago. Tests indicate the debris to <br />be less than.8'-6" below the surface and at least 3'-0 <br />below the surface. The size and depth of the debris fill <br />is not known. <br />(1) On the East side of site, stock pile all soil <br />covering Old Sanitary Land Fill" debris. <br />(2) Load on trucks and remove from this site all old <br />landfill debris, and dispose of debris, rubbish and <br />old tires according to local, state and federal <br />laws. <br />(3) When debris is removed and disposed of, the <br />"Covering Soil" used to cover old debris shall be <br />replaced in excavation 8" lifts'& wet as per <br />IPETTING. <br />(4) When made stable blend top one foot with "Select <br />Fill." <br />The excavation shall be brought to a level plane, in 8" <br />lifts, wet and compacted as specified. The required fill <br />to replace removed debris shall be "Select Fill". The <br />excavated soil shall be replaced in 8" lifts distributed <br />and smoothed on the building site. Soils under slab areas <br />to receive fill should be scarified to a minimum depth, of <br />8 inches and re-compacted to a density of 95% of the <br />maximum density as determined by ASTM D-698 "Standard <br />Proctor". The moisture content should range from optimum to <br />+3 percentaqe points above optimum. <br />10 <br />
