Division 9-B <br />Drywall <br />MATERIALS (CONTINUED): SUSPENDED DRYWALL CEILING furring <br />system shall be Chicago Metallic Corp. #630 suspension <br />system as described under "GYPSUM BOARD CEILINGS". HANGER'WIRE and tie wire shall be galvanized and of gauge <br />-recommended to carry loads, with 8 gauge minimum. <br />TAPE AND BEDDING material shall be equal to U.S.G. Perf-A-Tape. <br />TEXTURED FINISH shall be equal to U.S.G. Textone.. <br />ADHESIVE for gypsum shall be modified contact as recommended <br />by the wall board manufacturer. <br />METAL STUD CONSTRUCTION: Metal studs in exterior and <br />interior walls are furnished and installed by this Con- <br />tractor. All metal studs for the reception of gypsum wall <br />board shall be: spaced 16" c-c and shall include floor <br />and over-head runners, headers, fasteners, clips, screws, <br />etc., as required. <br />Screw both sides of studs to head and floor track. Provide <br />a 2 x 4 wood treated sole plate under metal runners in <br />moist locations as toilets, baths, shower and etc. Ramset <br />wood to slab. Screw runner to wood. Provide special stud <br />spacing where required for anchors and bucks to wall hung <br />fixtures and devices. Wood bucks shall be furnished and <br />installed by Carpenter. <br />Double studs on each <br />side of all openings and install headers to fit. Where <br />studs adjoin steel columns, spot weld not over 48" c-c. <br />Anchor with screws. Construct furred plumbing walls with <br />- double studs. Where head track does not extend to a solid <br />fastening, provide angle bracing from track to overhead <br />structure, 8'-0" c-c. <br />GYPSUM BOARD APPLICATION: Gyp board is installed on metal <br />studs, 5 8" plywood strips and 5/8" plywood. Apply sheets <br />parallel to the studs and follow the printed instruction <br />of manufacturer. Boards shall extend to within 1/4" of <br />the floor, but shall not touch the floor, and shall extend <br />6" above the ceiling or to close at roof as shown and detailed. <br />FASTENING: Gypsum wall board shall be fastened to wood <br />with coated flathead screws 8" c-c on wall board edges <br />and 12" o.c, inside panel. Screw through plywood to stub. <br />Metal studs and metal framing with Type "S" bugle head <br />1-1/4" long and 8" c-c on ceilings, and Type "S" bugle <br />head 1" long and 16" c-c on walls with studs 16" c-c. <br />45 <br />
