Division 15-A <br />Plumbing <br />WATER DI3TRIBUTION: The Plumber shall make all tapps. <br />Provide meter loop and cut-off in concrete box with cast <br />' iron lid. Generally, piping water within building is <br />concealed below floor and in chases. Where shown and <br />necessary to distribute overhead pipe shall be neatly <br />arranged and grouped with other pipe and properly supported <br />to avoid vibration. Water lines under concrete floors must <br />be run under concrete beams or in the middle of beam depth <br />through metal sleeves set in concrete forms. Install cut- <br />offs as shown or required. Where toilets occur in a <br />battery, a header of size noted shall be extended full <br />length of supply, with an air chamber as hereinafter <br />specified. <br />DISINFECTION: Water main shall be disinfected in accordance <br />with AWWA C601 latest edition. <br />HOSESIBS: Furnish and install where shown on plans <br />"Freezeless" sill cocks, equal to Woodford, Model #14 with <br />"Atmospheric Vacumn Breaker" and maximum body length for <br />location shown. All connections to sill cocks shall be <br />freeze-proof. <br />AIR CHAMBERS: of 12" long copper pipe shall be installed in <br />water supply of each fixture. The diameter of air chamber <br />shall be not less than the size of supply. <br />WALL PI,ATES: Exposed pipe passing through floors, walls, <br />and ceilings shall be fitted with chromium plated split <br />rings equal to Beaton and Corbin #10. <br />HOT 4ATER DISTRIBIITION: Provide water service to water <br />heaters with valve at supply. Hot water piping shall be <br />installed under floor, overhead or in partitions as <br />specified for cold water with proper provision for expansion <br />and construction. Provide 'i" service to each fixture, <br />lavatory and sink. All hot water pipes shall be neatly <br />arranged and securely anchored to avoid vibration. <br />PIPE INSIILATION: All hot-water and cold water pipes in <br />building including those in walls, between floors, and <br />underqround shall be covered with Armaflex ;i" thick pipe <br />insulation secured with #520 Armstrong adhesive and taped. <br />Insulation must be properly sized to fit pipe and cover all <br />fittings, and pipe insulation shall be secured with ;i" thick <br />Armaflex with #520 Armstrong adhesive. All hot and cold <br />water pipes in the building, attics, and walls, in the soil <br />under the buildings and thru concrete shall be insulated. <br />
