III. METHODOLOGY
The current planning effort officially began in April 2013 when the City of Paris began to address
the parks and open space opportunities throughout the city and create an environment for healthier
lifestyles. A handful of Paris' city staff and a Citizen's Advisory Committee were appointed to
help guide the development of the master plan for future park and recreation opportunities. The
city staff and Citizens Advisory Committee were involved in each major step of the planning
process and provided the local insight needed to produce a successful master plan. In addition, the
Paris City Council and all citizens who participated in the surveys, focus group meetings and
public input meetings were key components to developing this plan.
Paris City Council
Mayor A.J.
