This <br /> includes, but is not limited to, the removal of asbestos-containing <br /> wallboard, floor tile and sheeting, roofing and siding shingles, and <br /> construction mastics. <br /> <br /> 1.1.36 Class III asbestos work - Repair and maintenance operations, where <br /> "ACM," including TSI and surfacing ACM and PACM likely to be <br /> disturbed. <br /> <br /> 1.1.37 Class IV asbestos work - Maintenance and custodial activities during <br /> which employees contact but do not disturb ACM and PACM and <br /> activities to clean up dust, waste, and debris resulting from class <br /> 1 to 3 activities. <br /> <br /> 1.1.38 Clean room - an uncontaminated area or room which is a part of the <br /> worker decontamination enclosure system with provisions for storage <br /> of worker's street clothes and clean protective equipment. <br /> <br /> 1.1.39 Closely resemble means that the major workplace conditions which have <br /> contributed to the levels of historic asbestos exposure, are not more <br /> protective than conditions of the current workplace. <br /> <br /> 1.1.40 Commercial Asbestos Any material containing asbestos that is <br /> extracted from ore and has value because of its asbestos content <br /> (NESHAP definition, 1990). <br /> <br /> 1.1.41 Commissioner - The Texas Commissioner of Health. <br /> <br /> 1.1.42 Competent person - In addition to the definition in 29 CFR 1926.2(f), <br /> one who is capable of identifying existing asbestos hazards in the <br /> workplace and selecting the appropriate control strategy for asbestos <br /> exposure, who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures <br /> to eliminate them, as specified in 29 CFR 1926,32(f): In addition, <br /> for Class I and Class II work who is specially trained in a training <br /> course which meet the criteria of EPA's Model Accreditation Plan (40 <br /> CFR 763) for supervisor, or its equivalent and, for Class II and <br /> Class IV work, who is trained in a manner consistent with EPA <br /> <br />4/11/03 27 <br /> <br /> <br />
