ERI Consulting, Inc. <br /> <br /> -- English shall be placed in such a manner as to properly <br /> identify containment openings/regulated areas. <br /> <br /> -- 1.1.5 Following the completion of enclosure constructions and <br /> establishment of differential pressure, all activities <br /> involving the disturbance of asbestos-containing <br /> -- materials shall be performed using wet removal methods. <br /> <br /> 1.1.5.1 Removal of the flooring materials shall be <br />-- performed using wet methods. Mechanical chipping <br /> machines shall be allowed. All mastic removers <br /> incorporated during the project shall have flash <br />-- points in excess of 150°F. The contractor shall <br /> comply with additional respiratory protection as <br /> recommended by the manufacturer's Material Safety <br />-- Data Sheet (MSDS) for the solvent/mastic remover <br /> being employed. <br /> <br />-- 1.1.5.2 Following the construction of the regulated areas <br /> all activities involving the disturbance of <br /> asbestos-containing piping insulation materials <br />_ shall be performed using TDH approved glovebag <br /> techniques as defined by 29 CFR <br /> 1926.1101(2) (5) (iii). <br /> <br /> 1.1.6 Enclosure and Decontamination Unit: <br /> <br />_ 1.1.6.1 Critical barriers consisting of two layers of 6 mil <br /> poly shall be provided for electrical panels, <br /> vents, doors and windows which will not be used as <br />_ openings during the project. <br /> <br /> 1.1.6.2 The full differential pressure enclosures shall be <br /> constructed using two overlapping layers of 6 mil <br /> polyethylene on the walls. The walls will be <br /> constructed up to the suspected ceiling. If areas <br />_ being contained do not have a suspended ceiling, o__r <br /> a non-permeable type ceiling, one layer of 4 mil <br /> poly ceiling must be constructed. <br /> <br /> 1.1.6.3 Negative air units with new HEPA filters which are <br /> delivered to the iob site in oriqinal Dackaaes <br /> shall be used. The installation of the HEPA and <br /> pre-filters shall be observed by the consultant. <br /> Sufficient negative air units shall be installed to <br /> provide at least one air change every ten (10) <br />-' minutes within the enclosure and maintain at least <br /> -0.02" water column differential pressure inside <br /> the enclosure. All units shall be derated by at <br />-- least 25% for the purpose of calculations. <br /> <br /> <br />
