Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. Mrs. Strickland plans to demolish the structures. There was a discussion about the city doing the demolition. Johnny Norris asked what time frame Mr. Strickland needed to have the demolition done. Mrs. Strickland asked for 90 days. Motion was made by Sally McEwin, seconded by Jon McFadden to allow 90 days for demolition. Robert Talley stated at the November meeting the committee ordered a 30 day demolish order on this property. After the meeting Mrs. Ladell contacted Robert and asked to repair the property. Robert stated the property has deteriorating wood, foundation damage, leaning forward, splitting, sinking, unsecure, broken windows, roof deteriorating, the siding is falling off, and the roof is buckling and sagging. Robert Talley's recommendation: Order property owner to repair within 90 days. Mrs. Ladell stated she has cleaned up the junk and rubbish off the property. Mr. Wilson asked if she had started repairs on the structure and she stated no because she didn't want to spend money until the committee agreed to let her have time to repair the structure. Mr. Wilson asked Mrs. Ladell if she realized the cost to get the property up to code and she stated that she did. Johnny Norris asked how much time Mrs. Ladell needed to make the repairs. Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded Zac Saffle to allow 90 days to repair. Paris, TX 75460 -1010 Present: Mary Jane Harmon Taxes owed: $853.77 Robert Talley stated that there is deterioration around the window frames, porch, roof, siding is bowing, missing and deteriorated wood, and house is sinking, unsecure, and broken windows. Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. Mrs. Harmon has agreed to let the City of Paris demolish the structure. Mr. Wilson asked Robert to get with Mrs. Harmon and explain the estimate of cost and how to handle letting the City of Paris demolish her property.
