Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Chris Brown to accept <br />Robert Talley's recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />G. 2031 Culbertson, Highland Park, Block 4, Lot 9 -A & 10 <br />Owner: Robert Moses, 2031 Culbertson, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Back taxes owed: $7458.06 <br />No contact with the owner. <br />Robert Talley stated that the property owner may be deceased. Mr. Talley <br />explained that there is large tree limb that has fallen onto the front porch that has <br />caused damage. The porch has deteriorated and rotted wood and the front door is <br />open. There is water damage to the back of the house, the roof leaks and there is <br />rotten wood on the back porch. There is also a dead opossum inside the house. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Jon McFadden to accept <br />Robert Talley's recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />H. 445 SE 42 °d, Morningside, Block G, Lot 5 ( +lot in J Leach Sur A -524 behind <br />Lot 5) <br />Owner: Ramon Torres, 445 SE 42 "d, Paris, TX 75462 <br />No back taxes owed. <br />No contact with owner <br />Robert Talley stated that the structure burned in March of 2014 and was a <br />complete burn out. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Chris Brown to accept <br />Robert Talley's recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />There was some discussion about the insurance claim and the possibility of the <br />mortgage lender paying for the demolition. Dale Mayberry stated that the <br />insurance claim had been filed. Stephanie Harris stated that there was no way to <br />make the mortgage lender responsible for the demolition as you cannot bill them <br />for something that hasn't been done yet and by the time the City has the structure <br />demolished the lender would rather sign the property over then pay for the lien. <br />1160 NE 20t', City Block 262, Lot 11A <br />Owner: Jerry and Linda Stephens, 4369 Hwy 82 E, Paris, TX 75462 <br />Back taxes owed: $293.20 <br />Robert Talley has been in contact with Mr. Stephens' son. They are working on <br />repairing the house but plan on demolishing the shed in the back. <br />Robert Talley stated that the house is unsecure, but Mr. Stephens' son stated that <br />the windows are missing because they are replacing them.
