Regular City Council Meeting <br />February 9, 2004 <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />Councilman Bell mentioned it would be helpful to have a list of all the Boards <br />and Commissions, their existing members, and when their terms expired. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley called for a brief recess and 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />The City Council reconvened at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley said they would move to Item No. 15 on the agenda, which was <br />discussion of and possible direction to staff regarding revision of the evaluation <br />forms. He reminded the Council they had been provided with the resolution, a <br />copy of the blank evaluation forms and a copy of last year's evaluations last <br />month. <br /> <br />Councilman Jay Guest directed the Council's attention to the evaluation form <br />of the Municipal Court Judge. He questioned if the evaluations could be cut <br />down to five (5) major issues or whatever the Council agreed on. He discussed <br />budget management, requests from Council, supervisory skills, planning skills, <br />and interpersonal skills which he felt were necessary. On job knowledge, <br />Councilman Guest thought that because the Judge went to law school, is a <br />practicing attorney, and is a judge, that the category ~'Job Knowledge" should <br />be changed to ~'Job Performance." <br /> <br />Mayor Fendley asked City Attorney Schenk if any of these job performance <br />forms were changed, would they have to have a new resolution. <br /> <br />City Attorney Schenk indicated they would have to have a new resolution, but <br />explained it would be an amending resolution. <br /> <br />Councilman Guest questioned the viability of Communication Skills for the <br />Municipal Court Judge. <br /> <br />City Attorney Schenk said, occasionally, citizens would call and complain, and <br />those skills were necessary. <br /> <br />Councilman Bell asked if the change of ~'Job Knowledge" to ~'Job Performance" <br /> <br /> <br />
