Restructuring and streamlining of the municipal organization to provide the best possible <br />services to residents in a cost effective manner. <br /> <br />The Position <br /> <br />The City of Sherman is seeking a City Manager to manage and direct the daily operations of the <br />city and implement the policies of the elected City Council. Managerial competence, maturity of <br />judgment, strong personal leadership and the ability to communicate positively with the staff and <br />community are essential, <br /> <br />All employees of the City other than the City Attorney, City Clerk, and Municipal Court Judge <br />report to the City Manager through one of the department heads. The City as currently config- <br />ured has no deputy or assistant city managers, The current City Manager, Mr, Jim Andrews, has <br />announced his retirement after 38 years of service to the City of Sherman, the last eight years as <br />City Manager. His anticipated retirement date is June 1,2001. <br />
