<br />Recruitment Profile <br />City of McKinney <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Municipal Court - The court processes and prosecutes traffic and class C misdemeanors <br />for the police, fire, animal control, building inspection and code enforcement officers. <br />(Staff - 7; annual budget - $448,407) <br /> <br />Primary issues for the new Director of Administrative Services include: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Improvement of the actual and perceived service levels to internal customers of the City, <br />especially in human resources and purchasing. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Return to full operating hours for the Library. The newly completed facility requires ad- <br />ditional staff and has required curtailed operating hours. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Future development of the Airport: Among issues facing the City and its airport opera- <br />tions include the decision whether to continue to operate the facility as a City department <br />or to outsource operation to a management company; issues related to expansion; capital <br />development of the facility, including a secondary runway; and current litigation with a <br />neighboring city. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Expansion of municipal court hours to better accommodate internal and external custom- <br />ers of the court. <br /> <br />The Position and Candidate Profile <br /> <br />The Director of Administrative Services position represents an exciting career opportunity to <br />participate as a member of the executive team of a high performing, fast paced organization <br />dedicated to quality and customer service. The position will provide administrative and supervi- <br />sory leadership to the assigned functions under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />Education: The successful candidate will hold at least a Bachelor's degree in business or public <br />administration or a closely related field. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred but <br />not required, The City of McKinney will give priority to those candidates with a demonstrated <br />record of professional and supervisory success and achievement, <br /> <br />Experience: A minimum of five years management experience in a municipal or related envi- <br />ronment, to include three years of significant, progressively responsible supervisory experience <br />is required, The City will give strong, favorable consideration to those candidates with a demon- <br />strated track record of leadership and supervisory skills. The successful candidate will have had <br />direct, personal experience in supervising related functions in a municipal or public sector envi- <br />ronment.
