<br />SECTION. II <br />METHODOLOGY & TECHNICAL APPROACH <br /> <br />way to broaden our perspective on the qualifications needed for the position. Most recently, <br />we worked with the City of Abilene, Texas in the selection of their new City Manager and <br />utilized the input from community groups to effectively create a customized position profile <br /> <br />and brochure. A copy of tlle brochure is in included as Appen@ B of tIlls proposal for tIle <br />City's review, <br /> <br />In the development of the profile, WCG will also gather organizational charts, budgetary <br />information, operational reports, and other documentation describing the operations and <br /> <br />work1oad of the position as necessary. Additionally, we will use our knowledge of current <br />developments in the operations of 10cal government to further assist the City in the <br /> <br />development of the qualifications for this position. <br /> <br />Consideration will be given to <br /> <br />requirements such as formal education and specific work experiences. 'W'e understand ti,e <br />importance of developing truly meaningful position requirements that meet the current <br /> <br />needs of the City and that compliment the culture, goals and objectives of the City. <br /> <br />Based upon ti,e results of the discussions with the City, community and staff interviews, and <br />our review of other information, \VCG will develop a customized profile that represents a <br /> <br />consensus view of the background, experiences, and other qualifications important for a <br />successful City Manager for thc City of Paris. The draft profile will be presented to the City <br /> <br />Council for review and final approval prior to initiating the solicitation and advertising <br /> <br />strategy, <br /> <br />In order to conduct an open recruitment and to encourage applications from a diverse pool <br />of candidates, wce; will work with the City to develop a comprehensive advertising strategy <br /> <br />to notify potentÎill candidates about the vacancy. <br /> <br />wce; will review the current <br /> <br />advertisement and suggest improvements, or re-advertise, if necessary.
