MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, April 2, 1991 <br />5:15 o'clock P.M. <br />Council Room - City Hall <br />Paris, Texas <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, April 2, 1991, <br />with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Richard Fuller <br />5. <br />Frank Sherman <br />2. <br />Tom Kolko <br />6. <br />Gerald Byas <br />3. <br />Judy Lutz <br />7. <br />Charlie Thompson <br />4. <br />Billy Trenado <br />8. <br />David Gilbert <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:15 P.M. with Chairman Kolko presiding. <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett. <br />The minutes of the February 5, 1991 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />The first item considered was a request for a Traffic Signal at Johnson <br />Woods and Clarksville Streets. <br />After learning that The Texas Department of Highways and Transportation <br />had said the intersection meets the warrants for the signal Richard Ful- <br />ler made a motion to install the traffic signal as requested. Billy Tren- <br />ado seconded and the motion passed 8 ayes to 0 nays. <br />The second item was a request for Stop Signs on 34th Street N.E., stopping <br />North and South bound . traffic on 34th,at Pinebluff Street. <br />After learning that there is no traffic control at this intersection Ger- <br />ald Byas made a motion that the stop signs be installed as requested. <br />Charlie Thompson seconded and the motion passed 8 ayes to 0 nays. <br />A discussion was held concerning the possibility of The Highway Department <br />studying the intersections of 12th S.E. and Clarksville and 20th and Lamar <br />for recommendations on how to remove the offsets of these intersections <br />and make them safer. The Master Traffic Map was discussed and it was dec- <br />ided that the future plans for these intersections needed to be implemented <br />as soon as possible. <br />There being no furthur Pusiness the meeting was adjourned at 5:54 P.M. <br />a es a e <br />Assistant Chief of Police <br />
